This is a reflection of his culture, becuase it shows that during this time some familys were very close or loved another and felt sorrw when they were hurt. In This poem i think it describes the sorrow and lonlieness that mendoza felt when he lost his brother and how it affected him in his life and they why he acted towards the pain. he uses the form of his poems to take out his pain from his brother and clearly shows it through out the poem.
